Abstract: The essential characteristics of schematic conventional expressions can be defined as structural and semantic flexibility, and hence their high adaptability to constantly changing intra- and extralinguistic conditions. These expressions are studied, having regard to their dynamics at the intersection of a number of oppositions, as well as numerous domains, which ultimately form a multilayer structure.
Keywords: idioms, conventional expressions, schematization
