POLITICAL METAPHOR IN THE SPEECHES OF MEMBERS OF THE STATE DUMA AT THE BEGINNING OF XX CENTURY

Abstract:  The report focuses on the study of the functioning of a political metaphor in beginning of the twentieth and the elucidation of its role in the life of the political community of the period on the basis of verbatim reports of meetings of the State Duma of the Russian Empire III convocation. Analyzed examples confirm the existence of a political metaphor in the pre-revolutionary period of the State Duma and give an idea of what types of metaphors have dominated this era.
