Abstract:
Nowadays cognitivists are sure of the fact that language should not be considered as a limited autonomous formation, but as a system connected with other human systems. Cognitive view of a language implies understanding and studying it as a means of formating deviation of meanings of words and expressing ideas, storing and organizing knowledge in man’s mind.
A cognitive approach in studying the meanings of polysemantic words is in the fact that a considerable role in forming them belongs to a man as an observer and bearer of a certain experience and knowledge. It is a human that forms derivational meanings but does not reproduce them ready for use. All the searchings for a polysemantic word appear at the moment of speech.
