Abstract
An integrative approach to language analysis is introduced in the article. Language is presented as a complex system of key cognitive activities representation. Bringing key cognitive activities into correlation with the type of the knowledge formed and the leading language level of its representation elicits conceptual bases and regularities of language system formation. It also explains the mechanisms of language system functional potential.
