Abstract:
The article reveals the fact that orientational cognitive structures, resulting from the perceptual division of environment and modeled with the help of image schemas, determine the organization of four dimensions of modern English media discourse: hypertextual, concerning the non-linear layout of materials; nominative-referential aimed at reconstructing objects from different perspectives; mini-textual, including headlines that establish interreferential relations; textual, depicting events as a whole.
