WORDBUILDING OF PERIPHERAL NOUN CATEGORY

Abstract: 
The report deals with the matter of wordbuilding processes that influence peripheral noun category formation. As the analysis of the German language wordbuilding processes shows the noun category periphery includes substantivization, verbal and adjective derivatives, loanwords.
In the base of wordbuilding processes of verbal and adjective noun formation there is a cognitive mechanism of metonymy, which allows to single out a particular object element, characteristics and situations into a self-contained experience unit. The cognitive base of peripheral noun category formation is a further world categorization done by an individual as a bearer of certain experience and knowledge.
