Abstract:
The paper traces the link between the ideas of the founder of the functional theory of meaning, L. Wittgenstein and the studies of J. Fauconnier and M. Turner in the field of conceptual integration. The essence of the blending process is revealed. Composition, completion and elaboration as three main processes of conceptual blending are identified.
