SPACE AND ARCHETYPE IMAGE-SCHEMAS AS THE MEANING BASIS OF SYNTACTIC CONSTRUCTIONS OF A POETIC TEXT

SPACE AND ARCHETYPE IMAGE-SCHEMAS AS THE MEANING BASIS OF SYNTACTIC CONSTRUCTIONS OF A POETIC TEXT

Author:  A. V. Strilchuk

Abstract
The article attempts to exemplify double-faceted nature of meaning of poetic syntactic units represented by space and archetype image-schemas that constitute its preconceptual basis. The paper argues that conceptual implications of archetype image-schemas are embodied in the verbal form of poetic syntactic constructions indirectly, through conceptual characteristics of related space image-schemas. As a result the reader experiences diffuse emotions evoked by the recognition of archetypal images in the poetic texture.

Keywords:  image-schemas, preconceptual basis, archetype, embodied
