Abstract
Our article is dedicated to the representation of the category of space in the text of the English and Scottish ballad. We are basing on the idea that all spatial objects are represented in the language in the form of simple entities – point, line etc., and our analysis proves this conception. Investigating texts of folk creation helps us perceive the picture of the world of a certain time and also lets us reveal national character of the world view the unknown authors of such texts demonstrate.
