RADICAL AND MODERATE MODIFICATIONS OF COGNITIVE LINGUISTICS

Abstract: 
The author considers the recent approaches to the study of language phenomena within the framework of cognitive linguistics. He argues that in accord with the radical approach language is viewed as an instantiation of human cognition. Moderate approach is defined as a manner of describing language when a linguist is inclined to take into account language uniqueness as a cognitive ability.
