Abstract:  The article deals with the linguistic component of the argumentation theory. On the example of a number of works it is demonstrated that the major linguistic trends are presented in argumentation study, and the category of «the human factor in language» is actively involved in the analysis of interactional aspects of the argu-mentative practices. This allows us to claim that the human factor plays the role of a scientific construct, which is methodologically consistent with the basic approaches of the study of argumentation.

Keywords:  argumentation, reasoning, linguistic trends, the human factor in language, linguistic and cognitive studies.
