THE DYNAMICS OF IDIOMS’ EVALUATION AS REFLECTION OF HUMAN COGNITIVE ACTIVITIES

Abstract:  The article is concerned with the dynamics of phraseological evaluation which is viewed as one of the essential components of an idiom’s semantics. Flexible as it is, phraseological evaluation serves to convey an individual’s emotional estimation of the nominated object, either conventional or personal. The results of the analysis show that various modifications of idioms’ evaluation in discourse manifest the particulars of a person’s experience and cognitive activities.
