Abstract: By analyzing the current state of western Translation (Translator) Studies, current problems of agent-oriented (anthropocentric) study of literary translation that requires an integrative theoretical foundation are discussed. In this respect the cognitive-semiotic theory of interpretation (evaluation) construed as a sense-making activity of a living/lived biosociocultural organism offers a significant potential.
