COGNITIVE SEMANTIC FEATURES OF COLOR ADJECTIVES BLACK, WHITE, RED IN ENGLISH PHRASEOLOGY

Abstract:  The article discusses cognitive semantic features of color adjectives in the English phraseology which are based on mental processes that are aimed at processing vital information about color both for educational purposes and for the purpose of storage, transferring and retrieving information from memory. The common semantic features of black, white, red adjectives are defined and also symbolical and semiotics interpretations of the colours are considered.
