Abstract: This article deals with description of the temporal functions of the verb form “Präsens” in such speech genres of Internet communication as chat, forum and blog. The theme topicality is de-termined by insufficient study of this issue in the above-mentioned genres of Internet discourse. As a result of the research it can be argued that the verb form “Präsens” in this case is able to express the action taking place in the actual present, in the generalized present and in the future. Chat is characterized by the prevalence of the actual present while in blog and forum the generalized pre-sent dominates.
