IMAGE SCHEMA CHANGE AND ITS APPLICATION IN THE ENGLISH NEWSPAPER DISCOURSE

Abstract: 
The article proposes for investigation an image schema CHANGE, which is considered to be an elementary mental structure, the most general and universal mechanism of our embodied conceptualization of the world. The image schema CHANGE has a flexible internal structure, orders topological, perceptual, dynamic and scalar image schemas according to the principle of binary opposition and limits transformations between them.
