Abstract:
This paper addresses the issue of semantic and functional investigation of nouns converted from phrasal verbs in modern English, as conceptually complicated units. The analysis of the derivatives in small size texts gives a chance to find the possible correlation between the physical character of image-schemas of such words and the cognitive processes of inference.
