COGNITIVE MODELLING AND METAPHOR THEORY IN LINGUISTICS OF TODAY

Abstract: 
The article reviews the contemporary cognitive modelling theory in particular cognitive metaphorical modelling, the main goal of which as a method is to reconstruct and describe human’s conceptual system via metaphor. It is specifically stressed that since the revolutionary appearance of Lakoff and johnson’s Conceptual Metaphor Theory, metaphor as an object and method of research has been extremely popular.
