ON INTERPRETING METAPHOR AS A LINGUO-COGNITIVE PHENOMENON

Abstract: 
The author focuses on the interpretative aspect of metaphor considering metaphorization a rationally-logical and substantially-irrational model of cognition. The examples of interpreting metaphors – primary and poetic – are given.
