LITERARY TRANSLATION AND IDEOLOGY: FORMULATION OF THE PROBLEM

Abstract: 
In the paper the influence of ideological factor constituting one of the main components of translator’s discursive environment on translation process and target text is analyzed. Using semio-discursive approach to translation the author discusses the problem of conscious and unconscious normalization of the source text in compliance with ideological norms and values typical for the source culture.
