Abstract:
The article deals with the interrelation of three phenomena, i.e. style, text, dis-course. Some parallels between historical stylistics and discourse analysis are pointed out. One can find certain illustrative examples taken from the history of English language and literature. Some perspectives are suggested for further research as well.
