INTERPRETATIVE POTENTIAL OF SEMI-FUNCTIONAL VERBS IN THE RUSSIAN AND WESTERN EUROPEAN LANGUAGES

Abstract: 
The article deals with the interpretative potential of Russian, English and German verbs acting as copulas to connect the nominative part of the predicate (the predicative) with the subject. The author demonstrates how the general semantics of a verb determines the interpretation of event in the moment of perceiving an object and its attribute.
