Abstract
The cognitive approach to Terminology involves the structuring and representation of knowledge to facilitate its transmission and acquisition and to ensure the appropriate use of the terms themselves in specialized texts. The multidimensionality (i.e. different conceptualizations of the same entity) which is manifested at both the contextual and lexical level, affects the configuration of specialized concepts in multilingual terminological resources. This paper presents a comparative study of Russian-Spanish terminology with a view of providing insights into the multidimensionality of specialized knowledge concepts as reflected in their terminological designations. In this research, ontological and linguistic approaches are used to study how and why different languages conceptualize specialized entities from different perspectives.

Keywords:  terminology, specialized knowledge
