DISCRETENESS AND SYNCRETISM IN HYBRID CATEGORIZATION AS MARKERS OF DIRECT AND INDIRECT NOMINAL FUNCTION

Abstract
The article analyses several aspects of language categorization in indirect nominals. The object of study is a peculiar character of hybridization of language categories which defines the function of a nominal as direct or indirect. Two types of hybrid nominals are highlighted (discrete and syncretic), with their differentiation based on the character of convergence of categories. The type of hybrid nominals is connected with the syntactic focus of the utterance. The article thus states the possibility of direct and indirect hybrid nominals identification on the base of their syntactic focus representation.
