MODUS CATEGORY AS A MODEL FOR THE INTERPRETATIVE POTENTIAL AREA OF LEXICAL CATEGORIES

Abstract: 
The article considers the function of linguistic interpretation; the basic properties and cognitive grounds of linguistic interpretation are discussed. The author considers approaches to the systemic description of lexicon adopted in the linguistic tradition and proposes the way of modeling the lexical interpretative meanings area by means of modus category. Interpretative formats of knowledge licensing the formation of the modus category are brought into focus.
