SHADES OF COLOUR DESIGNATION VIEWED THROUGH THE PRISM OF PROTOTYPE SEMANTICS IN RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH FAIRY TALE DISCOURSE

Abstract:  The article deals with the shades of colours verbalization in Russian and English fairy tale discourse. The authors’ approach to the lexemes analyzed is grounded upon prototype semantics to treat them as deviation of the basic colour in the minds of speakers. Regular appearance of shades leads to their designation by new lexemes.
