TRANSLATION PARADOXES AND THEIR COGNITIVE INTERPRETATION

Abstract:  The paper discusses the most characteristic cases that expose cross-linguistic asymmetry in Russian-English scientific translation, particularly in rendering paper titles, its abstracts and keywords. The main point here is the necessity to sticking to discipline’s phraseology and its stylistic and terminological patterns that are exposed through its corpus-driven computer analysis. Special attention is paid to the output text’s authenticity in a cognitive perspective.
