Abstract: The article is devoted to the associative component of the concept of HAPPINESS in modern Russian. Based on the results of the associative experiment, authors identify value-sense dominants associated by native speakers of the Russian language with the name of the studied concept. Particular attention is paid to the hierarchical connections of value-sense components within the associative series, clearly characterizing the individual features of the mentality of native speakers of the Russian language.
