Abstract:  The problem under discussion is the features of two-dimensionality and three-dimensionality contained in the spatial image as the reflection of the types of conceptualization of the locative situations ‘Container’ and ‘Surface’. Russian and English locative constructions and their cognitive-semantic analysis are in the focus of our attention.
