STUDENTS’ LANGUAGE CONSCIOUSNESS AND STUDENT’S BOOK: MENTAL SPACE INTEGRATION AND DISINTEGRATION

The paper discusses the results of an experiment conducted in order to establish the features of knowledge representation through the study of the students’ linguistic consciousness. The study of the student’s mental space is necessary in order to reveal how much it integrates with the mental space of the “ideal / virtual student”, that is reconstructed with the material of the English textbook. The study is based on an experiment aimed at identifying students’ associative reactions to keywords that correspond to the main topics proposed in English textbooks for secondary schools.
