CONCEPTUALIZATION OF THE MEANING OF BINOMIALS, CONSISTING OF NOUNS WITH TIME SEMANTICS, IN RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH

Abstract: 
The article presents the results of an experimental study of the process of conceptualization of binomials, which include nouns with the semantic of time. The analysis of the experimental data showed that this group of binomials is characterized by cognitive categorization based on the metonymic model within the framework of the “part-whole” structure, implemented through cognitive derivation and lexicalization of the structure, while the variability of the cognitive focus of binomials does not affect this process.
