SALIENCE AS A COGNITIVE FACTOR OF SUCCESSFUL INTERPRETATION OF INDIRECT TEXTUAL EXPRESSIONS

Abstract:  The work focuses on salience as a cognitive factor of considerable sig-nificance for reference interpretation in non-entrenched indirect discourse expressions. This hypothesis is verified through oculographic experiment aimed at evaluating the role of salience in reader’s successful interpretation.
