THE TALE OF ZOLUSHKA (CINDERELLA): METAPHORIC POTENTIAL OF A PRECEDENT NAME

Abstract:  The paper analyzes the usage of the precedent name Zolushka (Cinderella) in modern Russian. The metaphoric model of ZOLUSHKA is described, namely features, situations related to the source domain, and the results of semantic transformations in the target domain. The article concludes that the precedent name Zolushka , the modern use of which is characterized by two meanings, has a high metaphoric potential.
