CULTURE-SPECIFIC LEXICAL UNITS AS COMPONENTS OF COMPARATIVE TROPES

Abstract:  The article discusses metaphors and similes with culture-specific components, as applied to modern Russian prose. A semantic classification of the images forming the tropes is proposed, the most frequently used groups of tropes are established, the functions of metaphors and similes in the literary text are determined.
