Abstract: Being a case study of English humanitarian academic literature, the article discusses the problem of the interaction between different conceptual areas. The analysis of this type of texts reveals fragments of the conceptual interaction of knowledge of different sciences in the process of the formation of knowledge of a particular science. The result of such interaction is established from the standpoint of cognitive linguistics.
