ABOUT SOME CHANGES IN RUSSIAN RIDDLES

Abstract:  The article deals with some particular changes in Russian riddles connected with new conditions of their existence, their new role in society and culture and their new functions. Special attention is paid to the fact that modern Russian riddles are easier to solve than traditional Russian riddles that have been a part of the Russian culture for centuries. Traditional and modern Russian riddles about cats are analyzed to show that the riddles created in Russian traditional culture many years ago are more difficult to solve than modern Russian riddles.
