Abstract:
The challenge of studying consciousness is rooted in the search for an explanatory principle of its nature and functioning. “Language in action” is proposed as the basis for such principle. It is shown that the theoretical foundations were laid in the cognitive-discursive approach within cognitive linguistics, which can be applicable to other disciplines of social sciences and humanities. This approach creates possibility for consensus between them, avoiding eclecticism and enriching their knowledge domains.
