DIACHRONICAL APPROACH TO TEMPORAL COGNITION: CYCLICAL TIME PATTERN IN ANGLO-SAXON

Abstract: 
The article presents the results of the research of linguistic aspects of temporal cognition on the basis of Anglo-Saxon texts. The author provides evidence that cyclical time pattern domineering in archaic cognition is reflected in the lexical system of the English language of the period.
