Abstract: Corpus-statistical investigation of the English lexical item ‘prejudice’ is an important heuristic means for showing variable relevance of different parts of the frame of prejudice in the ways people talk about sociologically relevant features of cognitive and emotional involvement. Such involvement aiming at epistemic solidarity resembles epidemic spread. The bulk of prejudices ever observed in the epistemic history supplies cognitive archaeologists with empirical materials for studying epistemic evolution in the cultural context of mankind.
