Abstract:
The article looks into an acute issue of correlation of the gradation category with its related categories. Special attention is paid to the interrelationship of the gradation category with the category of intensity. It is stressed that the view of graduality as a concept allowed the author to identify possible ways of development of the category under consideration. The author gives illustrative examples selected from both lexicographic sources and corpus data.
