Abstract:
The article deals with correlation of such cognitive phenomena as language, perception and cognition from the point of view of philosophy, psychology and cognitive linguistics. The author pays special attention to the importance of joint enterprise in studying cognitive processes and emphasizes the specific role of language in these processes. As an example of such processes the reflection of perceptual feature ‘shape’ within the lexical meaning of English nouns nominating natural space is given.
