METAPHOR AS A LINGUOSEMIOTIC ACT: THE CROSSING OF THE CONCEPTUAL AND THE LINGUISTIC

Abstract: 
The paper analyzes existing theories of metaphor: traditional and cognitive. The author demonstrates the advantage of linguosemiotic approach to metaphor, which in combination with cognitive approach enables us to study metaphorical semiosis in the unity of the conceptual and linguistic aspects.
