Abstract
The present article focuses on studying the linguocognitive structure of the concept JOY, objectivized in American English. The research is carried out within the framework of cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology. The integrative theoretical and methodological basis, the theory of conceptual metaphor, in particular, allows revealing the ethnospecific in the conceptualization of joy by an American ethnosemantic personality, explicating the axiological dimension of the verbalized emotion concept under consideration.
