MODUS-DICTUM MEANINGS OF FRENCH IMPERSONAL TURN IL FAUT IN THE LIGHT OF SEMANTIC-COGNITIVE APPROACH

Abstract: 
The article focuses on the analysis of the typical proposition (or a syntactic concept) of the French structural pattern il faut. The syntactical concept of modus in French contributes to using this turn for translating a large variety of Russian lexical units. Conversely, various lexical means of modus expression in Russian are trans-lated into French with the help of this impersonal turn.
