ON CORRELATION BETWEEN TARGETS AND COGNITIVE GROUNDS OF THE METAPHORIC TRANSFER OF WORDS IN MODERN GERMAN

Abstract: 
The research reveals the dependence of the cognitive grounds of metaphor on the metaphorical meaning itself. The study found out that metaphors highlight different as well as common components in metaphoric descriptions of diverse lexical groups. It can be used as a method to investigate the peculiarities of human perception.
