Abstract:
The article does research into functioning and cases of verbalization of the concept “regulation” in American mass media. It focuses on its metaphoric representations as a means of exercising influence on the reader. The analyzed examples reveal a contradictory view of regulation as an economic phenomenon. Besides it brings forth the idea that frequent recurrence of the concept REGULATION indicates its communicative relevance.
