MAIN COGNITIVE MECHANISMS FORMING A «SELF-OTHER» OPPOSITION

Abstract
The article covers the problem of knowledge representation. The author’s primary consideration is the issue of the cognitive and language mechanisms forming and representing the «self-other» opposition in the German political discourse. The speeches of the German chancellor Angela Merkel are analyzed as a language material. The author singles out such cognitive mechanisms of the «self-other» opposition as zooming, specification, focalization, positioning.
