Abstract:
Animalistic words are a good material for forming different types of semantic change, metaphor being among them. «Zoo-metaphor» forming has a cognitive base. While comparing people with animals a person evaluates the latter. The analysis of zoo-metaphors reveals the anthropocentric nature of the language.
