THE RESULTS OF THE 600-YEAR LONG RESEARCH OF CONNOTATION – INTERDISCIPLINARITY OR ECLECTICISM?
O. A. Burukina
The paper raises the problem of the wrong interpretation of the notion of connotation in linguistics due to the mistake made 400 years ago and the problem of polydisciplinarity and variety of interpretations of the phenomenon in different research paradigms. The author asks the question what the 600-year long research of connotation has resulted in and comes to the conclusion that an interdisciplinary approach has been making its way through the current eclecticism.
