THE INTEGRATION OF ANTHROPOCENTRIC AND SYSTEMOCENTRIC APPROACHES IN GRAMMATICAL STUDIES

Abstract:  The dominant position of anthropocentric approach to the description of grammar does not diminish the importance of systemocentric approach, because the grammar of language is, first and foremost, a system responsible for the organization, in accordance with the specificity of a concrete language, of conceptual contents, represented in the lexicon of the language. The most exhaustive description of grammar seems possible only if we consider both the systemic and human factors: the former presents the essence of the systemic arrangement of language, and the latter reveals how the speakers, on the basis of systemic knowledge (competence) actualize the linguocreative potential of the language system in their verbal and mental activity (performance).

Keywords:  anthropocentric approach, systemocentric approach, integration, linguocreative potential.
